01.29.2012 YOUTH SUNDAY

We started Youth Sunday a couple of years ago and I am so impressed in how these future leaders have changed and grown. They have put so much hard work into each Sunday. This past Sunday they put in about four or five hours preparing for this day. We have some very talented kids who are becoming quite good instrumentalists. These kids have hearts to serve, wanting to learn and work at doing the best they can. This is part of our Church’s hope, is to train people to be servants of God. We are training these young people so that when the time comes for them to make decisions at that Y in the road. When they need to decide to follow Christ and His teachings or the ways of the world, they will be prepared. They will remember the times they spent serving their Lord and all that they have been taught about His grace and servant-attitude.

They will remember the investment that people have made in their lives. Then they will be able to make decisions about which way to go when they reach those forks in the road. There will be mistakes, but they will have a strong foundation. That’s what we have to do here at Geneva Church of Christ. We must invest and train so that each of us has the strong foundation of Christ.
